At Modern Fan Outlet many of our ceiling fans come loaded with everything you could want in a fan. Many of our fans come with their own remote controls or wall controls, but for the fans that do not come included with these options you can add them to your cart as an accessory. All of the complete handheld remote and in-wall remote kits we offer are universal and will work with your fan. However, if the fan you have purchased came with its own remote and you are simply adding an extra handset for convenience you much match the handset to the proper brand fan you have purchased to insure compatibility.

In some instances your ceiling height may require you to add a longer downrod to your fan than what it has originally been packaged with. We carry downrods in 1/2" and 3/4" inside diameters, and in lengths from 12 inches up to 72 inches. We also have downrod couplers that allow multiple downrods to be connected together should a 72 inch downrod not be long enough. The diameter of the downrod will be determined by the name brand fan you are purchasing. There is no difference in strength of a ceiling fan downrod as for how sturdy they are to hold a fan between the 1/2" or 3/4" diameter downrods, as they are both sturdy enough to hold any weight fan you should install, it is simply a matter of getting the correct one to fit the fan you are purchasing. We have listed the name brand fans for each diameter downrod on the downrod pages so you will know which diameter you will need. If you are ordering a downrod with a ceiling fan and we see a mistake on the proper diameter for the fan you have ordered, we will contact you and get this corrected before shipping your new products, so your order will be correct once it arrives at your door.
