This is Gulf Coast Fas Close Mount Kit. This kit allows a fan to mount as close to the ceiling as a low profile ceiling fan, or ceiling hugger fan, by replacing the downrod and hanging system that is included with most standard mounted fans. It attaches to the top of the fan motor housing using 3 pre-drilled holes, and aligns to 3 threaded holes on top of a Gulf-Coast ceiling fan's motor housing.
It is possible that this kit can be modified to fit other brands of ceiling fans, but we only guarantee this kit to fit the Gulf Coast brand.

The distance from the ceiling to the bottom of the fan that you will save by using this kit will be the length of the fan's downrod, less 1 inch. For Example: If the fan you want to use this item on hangs a total of 14" and comes with a 4" downrod, by using this kit the fan will hang a total of 11".
